Individual Parking lots are hard to come by in this area, and your best bet is to park at the nearest open-air car park, such as the Jln HS Lee Parking.
The MJCP Parking @ Petaling Street was another nearby parking area. However, it has been closed for renovation, making way for a new police quarters that’s in constructed.
Ambiance

Restaurant Green Vegetables is not known for a fancy set up or posh interiors. Its clean and humble ambience is a huge improvement from the alley stall it used to occupy.
Somewhat narrow in terms of width with a longer depth, you’ll find a myriad selection of mixed rice vegetarian dishes on your left as you enter. Rows of tables line both sides of the restaurant until the kitchen.
Seating space is limited, so it’s normal to share tables if need be. The patrons, comprising a mix of Chinese, Indians, foreign tourists, and occasional Malays, are genuinely nice and will vacate once they have finished their meals.
Food

Restaurant Green Veggies serve more than 20 mix rice dishes at one go, with depleted food replenished to meet the customer demands throughout the day.
From green curry fish to deep-fried mushrooms, tomato-based bean curd, and a motley crew of green vegetables, their food is tasty without heavy seasoning.
Apart from white rice, they have brown rice and fried noodles for carbs. Best of all, the owner prepares a pot of nourishing vegetable soup available for diners for free!.
This vegetarian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur serves one of the best clay pot mee (egg noodles) despite being completely meatless.
If you’re craving food reminiscent of meaty delights, then dig into their Hokkien noodles bursting with aromatic wok hei. The Cantonese fried noodle is brimming with mushrooms, green vegetables, and carrots, while their Clay Pot Rice exudes an unmatched savory fragrance.

The invigorating spices in the curry noodles complement the fresh coconut milk, making it a delicious dish good to the last slurp.
Their red bean soup is another appetizing dessert flaunting the right level of sweetness with a thick consistency.
To jolt up the menu, the owner introduces seasonal delights on specific days of the week to keep regulars coming back. Food like vegetarian nasi lemak, Assam Laksa, satay mushroom, and tongsui (soupy desserts) find its way into their shape shifting menu.
Service
If you’re ordering dishes, service is surprisingly swift, with food served between 10 to 15 minutes from ordering.
While the staff speak predominantly Cantonese or mandarin, language is not a barrier as they can commute in English and Malay, where everyone is easily understood.
Pricing
Considering the generous serving portions at Restaurant Green Veggies and its affordable pricing, it’s no surprise that this vegetarian café in KL is thronged with diners.
For small eaters like me, my meals can be as cheap as RM5 only! A heaping plat of vegetarian dishes and a mountain of rice cost anywhere between RM10 – RM11 only!.
Conclusion
Stripped off fancy décor, cutleries and plating, Restaurant Green Veggies is still one of the best place to go for no-frills, affordable vegetarian cuisine near Petaling street.
Adjacent to top tourist spots in KL, the charms of this vegetarian restaurant lie not just in its food.
But it’s the people and the attention to detail put into dishing up the meals. Having to emulate meaty flavors using plant based food, the owner scours the best mushrooms and roots that serves as the based stock for their free soups and noodle dishes.
It’s a place where void of pomp and pretense, and you can let your hair down, eat to your heart’s content, while enjoying good company.
